Downloading Physical Objects (Kinda)

Remember those commercials that said “You Wouldn’t Download a Car…”? We all saw that and said “Well, if I could…”. It may not be that far off now. A Pirate Bay user has been offering computer files that work with 3D printers allowing you to download and “print” physical objects. These 3D printers are on the rise as of late and will undoubtedly become cheaper and more complex. Soon you may be able to hop on a torrent site and download your favorite childhood toys that your mom threw in the garbage when you went to college and make a physical copy for yourself. This is of course one of many speculated uses of this technology and it may be a long time before we get to that point, but I’m very interested to see where this goes!

Greatest Cartoon Theme Medley

cartoon

I should save this for Saturday Morning, but I just can’t wait that long. YouTube user and musician FreddeGredde has put together a fantastic medley of 90′s (mostly) cartoon themes. I can’t tell you how happy this video made me. Right from the opening Duck Tales notes straight to the end. The video is very well put together, funny and charming. I hope this guy gets huge if he hasn’t already. There are a few odd Swedish themes mixed in, but all of your favorites are represented. Where’s my cereal?!?!

Walking Dead / Growing Pains Mashup

In a move of pure genius, someone took the Growing Pains theme and mashed it up with scenes from AMC’s The Walking Dead for an oddly appropriate new intro!

3D Mouse Pads. Not What You’d Think.

Matt sent me a text telling me to search Amazon.com for “3D Mouse Pad”. I was expecting something really neat and maybe technologically or at least ergonomically sound. What I found, however, were these. Yes, you too can rest your wrist on the bosom of an Anime girl while you undoubtedly look up more Anime girls on your computer. Thanks Japan!

Odd Vending Machines

We covered the Pizza Vending machine the other day and I wanted to see what else was out there in the vending world. Well, I found quite a few things. Most of them not making much sense or seemingly dangerous. For the full list head over to BuzzFeed, or see a few of the better ones below!.

Super Creep Professes Love for Selena Gomez

Just when we thought the Video for Briona guy was creepy, along comes this guy and blows him out of the water. This elderly fella professes his love for a 19 year old Selena Gomez saying things like he’s “head over heels in love with her” and she can “read his mind”. He doesn’t seem to care that everyone that has seen this video thinks he’s a pedo.

Tired? Hungry? Sleep on These!

Take a look at some of these tasty pillows! I don’t see where any of these are for sale, but I’m sure you can bother the right person on Etsy to make you some. Head over to Wall to Watch for more!

Awesome NES PC Mod

File this under “I wish I had the time and know-how to do this” or “I wish I had the money to pay someone to do this for me”. In an awesome show of NES nostalgia, user jamesregan2012 over at RetroCollect Forum modded this classic NES console to house a PC complete with a DVD-ROM that comes out of the cartridge space! The joystick ports are now USB ports and the back panel is configured with PC outputs and inputs. I’m gonna play Mario 3 when I get home now.

The Pizza Vending Machine

pizza

I can’t imagine this tastes good at all and I’m sure that it breaks constantly, but the concept and execution of this machine (not in the US, for some reason) is pretty neat. I can see these things in college towns or busy cities with a lot of nightlife and low crime. Plus, it opens a whole new world of prepared food and lets people with social anxiety get some food without having to deal with pesky humans.

There is a US version coming soon, but it basically microwaves a frozen prepared pizza and puts it in a box. Looked disgusting.

Mortal Kombat (1992) Behind the Scenes Video

MKLogo

In honor of the great success that our own Matt had at Yestercades in Red Bank at the Mortal Kombat tournament, here is a video that shows some great behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the original Mortal Kombat. The video includes interviews with the actors that played the various characters and footage of them shooting the original MK moves that are I’m sure ingrained in our heads after hours of bloody fighting in the early 90′s. Very interesting video for anyone who is feeling nostalgic.
